Friday 26 is possible for me, but I'd need a place to crash after.
Sat 27 is better, but sun 28th is best.

Thou art one busy little grognard.
Yeah, Thursday's are out for me really (and Cat, cos he's in the game aswell); unless in case of cancellation but they tend to be short notice. Friday 26th @ ~17:30 I could make. Usually in a pub (Vaults or Crite) by that point! Dunno about Cat or Tim though. (I've cross-posted, if they respond I'll post back here or direct.)

I'd be delighted, mate.

15mm, eh. Bum. Everything I have is 1:300 or 1:72/76.

Strangely enough Cat has designs on exactly the same theatre! We've had preliminary discussions re this on the mute. (Don't worry, I'll cross-post.)

Weird. What happens?

North Africa, mainly 1942-43 but can do earlier, I just neet to know what you can field... (Buzz, read your PMs!)
I have some vague ideas about games but want time to plan (something I don't have much of)
Tim, if you want to build more forts, go for it.

I remember agreeing to operation Torch (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia / 1st Army) 8th November 1942.
But do we also do the western desert?
(Libya, Egypt/ 8th Army)
And finally, what extra/ optional rules are we using?
Buzz.
Also willing to do crossfire.

Sounds ideal, Tim. Top stuff!
Couple of months?! I'll need a WW2 fix long before then. *rattle* Well, I'm gonna get some terrain done and paint up the boards well before then for some experimental one-offs. (Also to try and rekindle some interest in Crossfire - the initiative one.)

4!
How many of these forts are there in North Africa...
No problems, 4 it is. They may be very similar, or possibly identical.

Planning on using a 3 x 3 base, similar to the BUA templates, and probably building up around the edges. I'll do one and we can size it up, to make sure.
Cheers,
Tim

Ok, two questions:
a) When are these going to be needed by?
b) How many are we likely to need?
Cheers,

Go for it! I've got enough other stuff to make up.

Excellent. You can bring it with you when you turn up for a battle then, eh.
Actually, I'm not sure when that will be but the sooner the better IMO.
Cat-smoke (<-- now there's an unusual mental image):
That makes sense I suppose. Like it.
I've got a bunch of felt so I can make a start with basic 2D features (Dunes and Trails to begin with).

That's a fort. (Sorry, I'll get my coat.) I could get some of those made up in wood without too much hassle. *thinks...*
Was just a sugestion. Forts work similar to BUAs but give better protection (+2 def) and are harder to to attack.
Will only need 2 or three at most anyway...

How would these work then? Random movement / manifestation?
In certain senarios (as per the book), any vehicle moving over combat speed create a dust cloud (1 1/4 x 3 3/4) behind it. This can be spotted at 21" and I think can block LOS (need to check that).

I might be able to make forts, I have some random small bits of wood that could be bodged into a fort...
If someone lets me know what sort of configuration to bodge them into i.e. do we want subsections on it, or is it a fort that the French Foreign Legioen would be proud of?
Posting images might help. Or IKP can do it, if he wants.

Trails (+3 speed for tracked and wheeled)
Yeah, I was going to make up some 'wiggly' trail sections - much like our current river sections - to represent these.
